2 bedroom -2 bath floor plan Renovations ?
I just bought a 3 story townhome, with all hardwood and it looks nice and the location is in a great part of houston. However it is a 2 bed adn 2 bath house. The master bed and bath are attached on the 3rd floor and the 2nd bedroom is on the 3rd floor. But the 2 full bathroom is on the 2nd floor. I want to install a tub / vanity bathroom in the 3rd floor by reducing the master bedroom huge closet space. What do you think
If you can keep a respectably-sized closet in your master — that is, one sufficient for a well-dressed couple — I think having another bath on the same floor as the second bedroom would be beneficial. Unless it’s going to be used by a child, (or the second floor bath lacks a tub), it can have a compact shower stall. This will steal less space from the master closet.
On a related note, is there an option to create a bedroom on the second floor to accompany that second floor full bath? Building codes typically define a bedroom as having a window, as well as door, smoke alarm and closet. If you go to sell, this could be beneficial to you. In the meantime, it can serve as a guest room away from your master with its own nearby bath.
